John Blackwell

John B. Blackwell, 70, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born October 19, 1941, in Startex, SC, he was the son of the late Boyce John and Kathleen Johnson Blackwell. Mr. Blackwell was retired as owner/operator from Credit Bureau Associates. He was a member of Startex United Methodist Church, and former member of the Jaycees, Spartanburg Sertoma Club, Carolina Collectors Association, and Fairforest Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Elaine Davis Blackwell; son, John Michael Blackwell and wife Robin of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Aften Michelle Blackwell and Michael Hunter Blackwell; and sister, Martha Phillips and husband Lane of Lyman. He was predeceased by a son, David Mark Blackwell. A private family service will be held at a later date.
