John Anderson

August 16, 1942 — January 31, 2015

John N. Anderson, 72, of Moore, SC died January 31, 2015 at Spartanburg Medical Center due to complications following surgery. He was born in Mt. Airy, NC and predeceased by parents, Jack and Vivian Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debra; his son, John, Jr. and wife Brandi; and his daughter, Angela Anderson; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Anderson, Abby Anderson, Jack Anderson, Cameron Ridings, Raker Anderson, Renzie Anderson, and Millie Anderson. Also surviving are sisters, Sara Anderson, Iris White, Faith Ashton and her husband Craig, sister-in-law Frances McKenzie; nieces, Beth Newsome and her husband David McKnight; Ellen Ellis and her husband Greg, Susan Marino and her husband Jay, Carol Newsome, Rebecca White, and Carrie Ashton; and nephew, Wade White. John was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He spent many years working as a structural designer. He enjoyed spending time with his friends; and in his younger days, he was happy on the golf course. He enjoyed photography and collecting model cars. His prized possession was his 2005 Thunderbird. The family will host services at 3:30 PM Friday, February 6, 2015 and greeting of friends will follow the service until 5:30 PM at Joy Lutheran Church, 3980 Moore Duncan Highway, Moore, SC 29369. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joy Lutheran Church; or Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
