John Allison, Sr.

John Coan Allison, Sr. died Monday, August 2, 2010 after a long illness. A native of Pauline, SC, Mr. Allison was the son of the late John J. and Mazie Allison. He retired from Southern Bell after 38 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Pauline T. Allison; three children, John Allison, Jr., Rachel Sprayberry, and LeClaire Allison; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Roberts; and two brothers, Jack and Dan Allison. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2010 in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Joshua C. Jennings and the Rev. Raymond A. Hellings. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center at the Church.
