John Alexander

John Gentry Alexander, 86 of Wellford, SC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Born April 20, 1934 in Fairforest, SC, he was the youngest and surviving son of MM and Mattie Alexander. Mr. Alexander is a proud graduate of Fairforest High School and Clemson University (1956). He was a faithful member of Fairforest Baptist Church where he loved to sing with the choir. Mr. Alexander retired from Kanawha Insurance Company. He enjoyed life and loved to make others laugh. He loved his family and friends dearly and never met a stranger. He lived a full and blessed life and was a blessing to everyone that knew him. Survivors include his wife, Kay, and son, Jay (daughter in law, Adrianna). He is also survived by his granddaughters, Mattie Rhinehart (Jeremy) and Mallory Alexander. A Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Fairforest Baptist Church, 115 Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29301, conducted by The Rev. Kermit Morris. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairforest Baptist Church, PO Box 338, Fairforest, SC 29336. The family will be at the home.
