Joel Mills

Joel Thomas Mills, 78, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at his home. Born April 9, 1944, in Shelby, NC, he was the son of the late James and Millie Mills.

A US Army veteran, Mr. Mills served in the Vietnam War. A kindhearted man who would help anyone that he could and never met a stranger. He and his coworkers would meet every morning for breakfast. Joel loved working on cars and was an experienced mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel Elizabeth Mills of the home; his daughter, Angie Mills of Boiling Springs, SC; and his sister, Kathrine Frances of Shelby, NC. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Ann Mills.

A Memorial service will be 3:00 pm Friday, October 14, 2022, at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, 1301 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303, conducted by The Rev. Kristopher Showen. The family will receive friends following the service.
