Joe Turley, Jr.

Joe Elmer Turley, Jr., 74, of Jonesville, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC. Born January 4, 1936, in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Joe Elmer Turley, Sr. and Hilda Paulene Guthrie Turley and the husband of the late Barbara Lee Barker Turley. He was a retired supervisor after 29 years of service with White Stone Chemical Company, which later became BASF Chemical Company. He was a member of the VFW in Spartanburg, the American Legion in Tombstone, AZ, and a U.S. Army Veteran of the 4th Armored Division in Germany between 1959 and 1960. He was predeceased by a son, Joe Elmer Turley, III. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372, conducted by family members and friends.
