Joe Threadgill

Joe Brown Threadgill, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Community Hospice Center in Jacksonville, FL. Born September 15, 1942, in Cowpens, SC, he was the son of the late John Gary and Ella Murph Threadgill. A member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Threadgill loved his Lord, family (especially his grandchildren), and his church. He also loved fishing and gardening. Survivors include his children, Eddie Threadgill of Jacksonville, FL, David Threadgill of Charlotte, NC, and Christie Groff of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Kovach of Lancaster, SC, Hope, Jackson, Ella, and Mitchell Groff of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Charles Threadgill of Memphis, TN and John Threadgill of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Iris Hutcherson of South Carolina; and the mother of his children, Judy Messer of Jacksonville, FL. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Peace Free Will Baptist Church, 1195 Old Converse Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 noon Monday, March 21, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Chuck Thornton.
