Joseph Blanche Suddeth, 73, of Cowpens, died Friday, December 16, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 5, 1938, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Roy Walter and Gladys Lynch Suddeth, and husband of the late Minnie Louise Suddeth. Mr. Suddeth was a farmer and founder of Suddeth Farms. Prior to farming he was employed at Firestone Steel. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his sons, Joey T. Suddeth and wife Karen of Chesnee and Roy Dale Suddeth of Spartanburg; daughter, Pamela Louise Whelchel and husband Tim of Chesnee; grandchildren, Ashley Greer and husband Scott, Summer Suddeth, Scott, Tasha, and Brittany Thompson, Jessie Quinn, Lawson and Brandon Suddeth, and April Whelchel; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Henry Suddeth and wife Wanda of Boiling Springs, SC. He was predeceased by a sister, Louise Heatherton; and a brother, Jerry Suddeth. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, December 19, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Preston Edmonds. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
