Joe Stephens, Jr.

Joe W. Stephens Jr., 53, of Spartanburg and Enoree, SC, husband of Donna F. Stephens, received his angel wings Sunday, December 15, 2013, after a long illness. He was the son of Mattie Ellisor of Enoree and the late Joe W. Stephens Sr. Joe was previously employed by Bechtel Corporation and National Starch and Chemical. He enjoyed family, fishing and was a dedicated hard worker. He loved and lived for his family and grandchildren. Joe was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Shana Stephens and Cynthia White (Jason) and three sons, Chad Stephens and Joe Lee Stephens all of Spartanburg, SC, and Chad Wright of Cowpens, SC. He had six grandchildren, Braxton White, Savana Poole, Jaelyn Stephens, Lydia and Kara Wright, and Austin Harvey; one sister, Tammy Gibson (Mark) of Enoree, SC; and two brothers, Richard Stephens (Vera) of Columbia, SC and Lynn Stephens (Chrissy) of Spartanburg, SC. He was predeceased by a son, Roger Harvey and a nephew, Adam Gibson. Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams. Burial will be in Westwood Memorial Park, 6101 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369. Immediate family and friends will assemble at the home of his daughter, Cynthia White in Spartanburg and the home of his mother, Mattie Ellisor, in Enoree.
