Joe Pack

Joe Pack, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 21, 1929, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late James Lucas and Mary Leister Pack. Mr. Pack served in the U. S. Army and was retired from Rockwell Draper Corporation. He served 22 years as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Hilltop Fire District, was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church and Beaumont Masonic Lodge. Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Emily McKnight Pack; daughter, Cindy (Scott) Hall of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Chad Pack of Spartanburg, SC, and Joel (Kathy) Pack of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Jake Pack, Jamie (Curtis) Flewelling, Jonathan Pack, and Ross Hall. He was predeceased by two brothers and five sisters. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Rupert Guest, the Reverend John Cox, and the Reverend Steve McClain officiating. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Hilltop Fire District members will serve as honorary escort. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
