Joe Davis

Joe Everett Davis, 93, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on November 5, 2022, at his home. Born July 9, 1929, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Joe Henry and Mable Zelle Upton Davis, and husband of the late Doris Jean Owenby Davis until her passing in 2007.

A United States Navy Veteran, Joe retired as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service after 31 years of service. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church for 75 years, before transferring his membership to Converse Baptist Church 10 years ago. Joe was a very Godly man who loved the Bible, family, the church, and America.

Survivors include his daughter, Ann D. Arrington (Carroll) of Spartanburg; sons, Joe Everett Davis, Jr. of the home and Rev. Mike Davis (Karen) of Boiling Springs; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the last survivor of his immediate family; Joe was predeceased by his three brothers, Earl, Donald, and Ray.

Visitation will be from 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Converse Baptist Church, 325 Main Street, Converse, SC 29329. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the church, conducted by The Rev. Mike Davis and The Rev. Camden Bagwell. Interment will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, 1551 Bryant Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303, conducted The Rev. Ty Childers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Converse Baptist Church, P.O. Box 159, Converse, SC 29329.
