Joe Wayne Daniel, 82, of Spartanburg, SC died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 4, 1938 in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Oscar Dewey and Minnie Sellars Daniel. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Daniel was retired from Electro-Test and McNaughton-McKay Electrical Company. Joe was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Converse Masonic Lodge #210, The Hejaz Shriners Mini-Cars unit for 20 years, and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Sally Porterfield Daniel; his daughter, Reneé Daniel Long (Joe) of Cowpens, SC; stepdaughter, Angela Dawn Brooks of Lawrenceville, GA; granddaughter, Kristen Mackenzie Abercrombie (Brian) of HI; step grandsons, Mitchell Wunderlich of Lawrenceville, GA and Zachary Tyler Long of Cowpens, SC; granddaughter, Andrea Basila of Lawrenceville, GA; and his sister, Yvonne Werle of Atlanta, GA; Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by his siblings, Myrtle Lowe, Dorothy Hyatt, Rayford Daniel, Etta Swafford, Norma Daniel, and Dewey Daniel. The family wishes to thank the staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their love and support of Joe and the family. Cryptside service with military honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Terrell Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
