Joanne Humphries

JoAnne Brown Humphries, 80, of 917 Beverly Dr., Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, October 19, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 7, 1935, in Littleton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Edith Jones Brown. Mrs. Humphries loved reading, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and retired as co-owner of Southern Pest Control after more than 25 years of service. She was a graduate of Oak Grove High School in Maryland and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 34 years, Robert Earl Humphries; children, Celeste Schiffley (Ted) of Grayslake, IL; Hailey Thomason (Regi) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Patrick Humphries (Kim) of Chesnee, SC; grandchildren, Jonathan Schiffley, Tylar Thomason, Jarad Thomason, Meryl-anne Humphries, and Bryson Humphries; sister, Rebecca Braswell (Gurney) of Rich Square, NC; and her beloved canine friend, Baby. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Andy Case.
