Joanne Scott Hawkins

Joanne Scott Hawkins,86 of Woodruff, SC passed away on Friday May 10, 2024. She was born on March 06, 1938, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Grover C. Scott and Emma Elston Scott. 

Joanne's passion for education led her to graduate from Limestone College with a bachelor’s degree. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to new places, reading books, and indulging in shopping sprees. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories. Joanne was a dedicated Supervisor at Cryovac in Simpsonville, SC for over 20 years, where she made a lasting impact with her hard work and leadership. Joanne was also a member of Vineyard Church of God in Spartanburg, South Carolina. 

 Joanne is survived by her loving sons; John Mitchem (Crystal), Allen Hawkins (Glenda); Grandchildren; Holly Mitchem, Christopher Mitchem, Jennifer Kuzik (Mark), Kayla Griffin, Keith Hawkins, Tommy Hawkins, Jeff Hawkins (Wendy), Tim Hawkins (Wendy), Mitzi Parker (Charles), Benny Hawkins; as well as 19 Great-Grandkids and 10 Great-Great-Grandkids. Joanne was predeceased by her late husband; Mr. Grady Hawkins, sons; Steve Hawkins, Wesley Hawkins, Mark Mitchem, and daughter; Elizabeth Mitchem, a brother; Grover Scott and a sister Frances Caldwell.

A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate Joanne's life will be held on Thursday May 16, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens 1300 Fernwood- Glendale Road Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307. The service will begin at 2:00 PM. Joanne will be dearly missed by her surviving family members and friends who were deeply touched by her kindness and love.
