Jo Haven Adkins, 82, of Cowpens, SC, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 19, 1931 in Clifton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Cliatt R. and Haven Jo Case Mahaffee, and widow of John Roberson Adkins. Mrs. Adkins was retired from Gordon Henry Construction and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, Michael Adkins (Faye) of Cowpens, SC; grandchildren, Jon-Michael Adkins and Jennifer White of Cowpens, SC; great-grandchildren, Haley and Alisa; and sisters, Barbara Littlejohn, Sara Rogers, and Judy Turner. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Timothy Adkins and Joey Adkins; and a brother, Cliatt Mahaffee. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. John Howle. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 3055 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
