Jimmy Edward "Chunga" Brackins, 64, of Cowpens, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 10, 1949, he was the son of the late Edward Curtis and Alice Sprouse Brackins. He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Chunga was a devoted father and family man and is survived by a son, Jesse Brackins of Cowpens; daughter, Hillary Brackins Anderson of Cape May, NJ; stepdaughter, Shelly Pennington of Columbia, SC; longtime friend and companion, Sherry Buchanan; grandchildren, Jaden Brackins and Donathan Rollins; five sisters, Thelma Edge, Ethel Morgan, and Bertha Harold, all of Pacolet, SC, Janie Crawford and Betty Hutt, both of Union, SC. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Brock. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, by the Rev. Charlie Glover. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt.
