Jim Fisher

March 16, 1946 — April 28, 2015

Jim Fisher, 69, of Lake Bowen, SC, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Born March 16, 1946, in Selma, AL, he was the son of the late Claude Chilton and Aline Elliott Fisher. A member of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church and graduate of Auburn University, Mr. Fisher was an educator and coach for 46 years. He taught and coached at Boiling Springs High School for the last 23 years. He also taught Adult Education through Spartanburg County School District #7, retiring in 2014. After God and family, Jim's greatest joy was teaching and investing in his students and athletes. He deeply cared for each one of them throughout his teaching and coaching career, believing they all could accomplish any goals they set in life. Survivors include his wife, his love of 40 years, Hazel Wells Fisher; children, Greg Tucker (Buffy) of Moore, SC, Susie Tucker Brewer (Jason) of Nashville, TN, Diana Fisher Sheriff (Bryan) and Ali Fisher, all of Duncan, SC; grandchildren, Henry Tucker and Jordan Tucker, both of Moore, SC, Jack Brewer and Sam Brewer, both of Nashville, TN, Payne Sheriff and Fisher Sheriff, both of Duncan, SC. A celebration of his life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church, by the Rev. Dr. D. J. Horton. Visitation will follow in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church World Missions, 4455 Anderson Mill Rd., Moore, SC 29369. The family expresses thanks to Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their special care and support. The family is at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Buffy Tucker, 316 Tracy Lane, Moore, SC 29369.
