Jessie Bowers

Jessie Minor Bowers, 86 of 205 Donegal Drive, died Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born June 25, 1924 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Henry Carroll Minor and Gladys Walker Allen and the wife of the late Cecil D. Bowers. A member of Reidville Road United Methodist Church, she enjoyed talking with her friends from Sunday School and Church, talking about her grandchildren, reading and watching TV shows, such as, Golden Girls. She was a 50 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include a son, Dr. Charles E. Bowers and wife Dr. Teresa A. Bowers of Spartanburg, SC; a daughter, Mary A. Lash and husband Roger M. Lash, Jr. of West Friendship, MD; a sister, Patricia M. Allen of Fort Pierce, FL; and grandchildren, Monica T. Bowers, of Los Angeles, CA, Jessie Nicole Bowers and Lauren M. Bowers, both of Spartanburg, SC, Jennifer C. Lash and Amanda K. Lash, both of West Friendship, MD. A memorial service will be held at a later date in her hometown of Baltimore, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reidville Road United Methodist, 5575 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369.
