Jesse Whitlock

Jesse Harold Whitlock, 89, of 1049 Knollwood Acres Road, Boiling Springs, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 27, 1920 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Andrew Jess and Hattie Creola Senn Whitlock. He attended Spartanburg Technical College and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 33 years of service during WWII through the Vietnam War. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Frances Poteat Whitlock; a son, Jessie F. Whitlock of Lockport, LA; a daughter, Linda Sue Hargrove of Norfolk, VA; a son Michael Whitlock of Boiling Springs; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Graveside services with full military rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Keith Davis. The family is at the home.
