Jerry Genobles

Jerry Wayne Genobles, 57, of 195 Suttles Road, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 18, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Spartanburg County, he was born October 11, 1952 in Cowpens, SC to Leola Bennett Genobles of Spartanburg and the late James Cleveland Genobles. He was the beloved husband of 37 years to Debra Ann Melton Genobles. He was an active and dedicated member of Clifton First Baptist church where he was a former chairman of the deacons. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He leaves behind family and friends he loved and to whom he was devoted. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Genobles, his wife Jessica, and their daughters Abby and Anna of Cowpens, and Matthew Genobles, his wife Sonya, and their daughter Avril of Inman; and two brothers, Dennis Genobles, his wife Reneé, and their children Vanessa and Johnathan, and Randy Genobles, his wife Debbie, and their children, Lisa, Jason and his wife Kim, and their daughter Tori, all of Spartanburg. Visitation will be held 3:00-3:45 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael Bradley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, P.O. Box 1582, Spartanburg, SC 29304; or to Clifton First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 135, Clifton, SC 29324. The family is at the home.
