Jerry Garrett

Jerry Leon Garrett, 82, of Pacolet, SC died Monday, December 14, 2020, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born December 27, 1937 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Theodore Monroe Garrett Sr. and Ellie Ward Garrett. A Jonesville High School graduate and a U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Garrett, was a member of West Springs Baptist Church and was formerly involved at Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church, Pacolet United Methodist Church and Gravely United Methodist Church. He taught Sunday School and enjoyed coaching in the church athletic leagues. Mr. Garrett loved his family, hunting, fishing, and enjoyed all sports. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Brenda Thomas Garrett; sons, Scott Garrett (Tami) of West Springs, SC, Craig Garrett (Joanne) of Jonesville, SC and Jason Garrett (Brooke) of Pacolet, SC; grandchildren, Grayson, Mary Ashton, Alex, Lori, Anna, and Raegan; great-granddaughter, Gabby; brothers, Tommy Garrett (Nancy) of Prosperity, SC and Fred Garrett (Barbara) of Boiling Springs, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, T. M. Garrett Jr., Donnie Garrett, Kenneth Garrett, Mack Garrett, Frances Thomas, Brenda Dorman, and Martha Hall. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Greg Black. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Springs Baptist Church, 4811 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Pauline, SC 29374.
