Jerry Cox

Jerry Marshall Cox, 66, died Friday, January 24, 2014, at his home. Born August 12, 1947, in Spartanburg, he was the son of Henry Marshall and Ruby Phillips Cox of Wellford, SC. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Jerry was a former owner and management consultant of Service Dimensions, Inc. and a member of First Presbyterian Church and the South Carolina National Guard and a former member of the Downtown Sertoma Club of Spartanburg. In addition to his wife, Bronwyn McMillan Cox, he is survived by a daughter, Alice Elizabeth Cox, of the home, and two sisters, Sylvia Cox Turner of North Augusta, SC, and Phyllis Cox McBride of Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Monday, January 27, 2014, in the parlor at First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, 393 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 in the sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. Joanne Hull. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, P.O. Box 1582, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at their respective homes.
