Jerry Carroll Sr.

Jerry Earle Carroll Sr., 69, lifelong resident of Spartanburg, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at his home. Born June 9, 1942, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late James Ryson Carroll Sr. and Cordelia Porter Carroll. Mr. Carroll was an active member of River Hills Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, and on numerous committees. He was retired from Brown Rogers Dixon after 48 years of service and received numerous sales awards. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Brenda Rinehart Carroll; daughter, Jodi Sanders and husband Steve of Cowpens; son, Jerry Earle Carroll Jr. and wife Veronica of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Haleigh and Melissa Kirkland, Jaiden and Bryson Carroll; and a sister, Judy Bridwell of Anderson. He was predeceased by a brother, James Ryson Carroll Jr.; and a nephew, James Ryson Carroll III. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. C. Kent Smith. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
