Jerome Clarence Bryant, 89, of Pacolet, SC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 12, 2015. Born June 15, 1926, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Irene McBride Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a graduate of Pacolet High School Class of 1944. He also received his degree in business from Cecil's Business College of Spartanburg. A Mason and Shriner, Mr. Bryant gave to many charitable institutions and causes. He served with distinction in the U. S. Army from 1954-1956. He was owner and operator of two successful businesses, Pacolet Fuel & Supply Company and Western Auto of Cowpens, from which he retired in 1991. A lifelong faithful member of Pacolet United Methodist Church, he loved his church and his Lord. In his younger years, Mr. Bryant enjoyed the beach, traveling, and raising cattle, among other interests. In his retirement years, he enjoyed immensely his personal computer, as well as the companionship of his Boston Terriers, Buster, Boots, and Lucy. He was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Florene Kirby Bryant. He also leaves behind his daughter, Anita Bryant Carrigan (J. R.) and granddaughter, Holly Carrigan Burrell (David). He was blessed with three great-grandchildren, AnnaBelle, Connor, and Jackson Burrell. A celebration of his life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372, with the Rev. Andrew Carrigan and the Rev. J. R. Carrigan officiating. Visitation will follow the services. Interment will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
