Jennie Lee Fain Silvey, 79, of Cowpens, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born March 23, 1930, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Creed and Maude White Fain and the wife of the late Bobby G. Silvey. She was retired from Spartanburg School District 6 and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Leland Smith and his wife Carolyn of Spartanburg; a daughter, Vickie Norris and her husband Bob of Cowpens; a step-daughter, Dale Cook and her husband Clarence of Jonesville; two brothers, Roy Fain of Cowpens, and Marshall Fain of Clifton; a sister, Diane Higgins of Cowpens; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jesse Fain and Creed Fain, Jr.; and a sister, Doris Wood. Visitation will be 11:00-11:45 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dennis D. Spencer. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at their respective homes.
