Jeffrey "Jeff" Andrew Johnson, 47, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, August 21, 2011, at his home. Born August 27, 1963, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of James A. and Carole Hill Johnson of Spartanburg. Jeff was a skilled landscaper who was employed for over 30 years with Foster's Garden Center, working at both the Hillcrest and Westside locations. His love and specialty was catering and cooking for others. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. In addition, he was a member of Harry Hampton Memorial Wildlife Fund, an avid art collector, and a dedicated South Carolina Gamecock fan. He was a graduate of Broome High School and attended USC Upstate. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Donna Tillotson Johnson; stepsons, Connor Lee and William Cole Mason, both of Spartanburg; sisters, Angela Johnson Pheffer (Doug) of Inman, SC, and Janet Johnson Owens (Terry) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nieces, Lauren Lytle, Meredith, Morgan, and Logan Grace Pheffer, all of Inman, Gentry Pheffer-Collins of Jacksonville, FL, and Raegan Owens of Mt. Pleasant; and a nephew, Maxwell Owens of Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Gerald Burnett and the Rev. Rufus Chaneyworth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Radio Ministry, c/o Morningside Baptist Church, 897 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Eastside Baptist Church Youth Program, 1850 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of his parents, Carole and James Johnson, 236 Lake Forest Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
