Jeffrey Atkinson

Jeffrey Scott Atkinson, 43, of Moore, SC, husband of Rhonda Burdette Atkinson, died Monday, September 28, 2015. Born March 17, 1972, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Mildred Aileen Scruggs Collins (Buck) of Spartanburg, SC and Allen Evans Atkinson (Jean McKinney) of Boiling Springs, SC. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Atkinson was an avid golfer, loved the Dallas Cowboys and Gamecocks, and was co-owner of Double A Tax Service. In addition to his wife, parents and step-parents, he is survived by his children, Austin Atkinson of Orlando, FL, Evan Atkinson of Franklin, TN, and daughter, Mackenzie Church of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Jimmy Atkinson of Lyman, SC; step-sisters and step-brothers, Kelly Collins of Spartanburg, SC, Carla Collins of LaGrange, GA, Russ Collins of Columbia, SC, and Chris Collins (MaryBeth) of Spartanburg, SC; sister-in-law, Angela Burdette Bonner; nephews, Dylan Atkinson, Dillon Bonner, Cale Bonner, David Collins, and Matthew Collins; nieces, Jamie Atkinson and Erin McCall (Devan); father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Gloria Burdette; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2015, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 797 Old Georgia Rd., Moore, SC 29369, conducted by the Rev. James L. Oliver and the Rev. Joe Burnett. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aileen Collins, Jeff Atkinson Memorial Fund, c/o Capital Bank, 2680 Reidville Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29301.
