Jeffery Nelmes

Jeffery Hunter Nelmes, 20, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016. Born December 27, 1995 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Jeffery Scott Nelmes of Rutherfordton, NC and Wendy Dawn Brown Setzer of Spartanburg, SC. He was a beloved son, grandson, stepson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. Jeffery was a 2013 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church. He was employed with Starbucks on Pine Street, and he was an Eagle Scout and member of the BSA Troop 211. He was a guitarist and singer, and loved to record music, with his lifelong friends, John Hendrix and Chase Horne. He was a beautiful soul and will be sorely missed. In addition to his parents, survivors include step-father, Alan Setzer of Spartanburg; step-sister, Megan Watchorn of Spartanburg; grandmothers, Martha Nelmes and Louise West, both of Boiling Springs; Hunter's girlfriend, Caroline Vess of Spartanburg, and his father's companion, Jean Morgan. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Noel J. West and Howard Nelmes. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy. 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Phillips. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy. 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316 with visitation following. In lieu of flower, memorials may be made to the Palmetto Council BSA, 420 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306 or to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
