Jefferson Rice

Jefferson Howard Rice, 61, of Whitney, SC went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at his residence. Jeff was born on March 10, 1960 in Spartanburg, SC, and was the son of Laura Christine Rice of Whitney, SC and the late Joe Howard Rice.

Jeff graduated from Boiling Springs High school in 1978. He later continued his education after being called to preach the Gospel of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Receiving a Doctor of Ministry Degree and a Master of Ministry Degree from Foothills Theological Seminary in 2008. Jeff was the former senior pastor at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in the Columbia SC area.

Jeff was a MEGA fan of The Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was very proud of the successes they have achieved the last few seasons. GO IRISH!

Surviving Jeff are his mother, Laura Christine Rice of Whitney, SC; 17 cousins, three aunts, one uncle, and a very close friend who all loved him dearly.
