Jeanne Swofford

Jeanne Thomas Swofford, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Homer and Pearlene Whitlock Thomas, and widow of George E. Swofford. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Mrs. Swofford was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and formerly employed with The Leader Department Store. Survivors include her daughter, Bunnie Swofford Guy (Rick) of Spartanburg; granddaughter, Dana Elizabeth Etheredge (Sam) of Spartanburg; and great-grandchildren, Nolan, Jasmine, and Natalie. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Travis Putman; sister, Rebecca Pearson; and brother, James Thomas. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Dale Rawlings. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at the home of Mrs. Jeanne Swofford.
