Jeanne O'Shields

Jeanne Rheney O’Shields, 92, of Spartanburg, SC died Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Summit Hills Assisted Living. Born in McCormick, SC, on March 31, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Gordon and Intha Judd Rheney and widow of Edwin “Ed” Nelson O’Shields.

Mrs. O’Shields was retired from Morningside Baptist Church where she was a member. She passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s and she is now at peace.

Survivors include her son, Joe O’Shields (Laura) of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Alice Sumner (Roger) of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Jack Dodds. Visitation will follow at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice, 212 East Floyd Baker Blvd., Gaffney, SC 29340.
