Jeanette Walker

December 8, 1930 — February 4, 2010

Jeanette Walker, 79, of Cowpens, died Thursday, February 4, 2010, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born December 8, 1930, in Sneads, FL, she was the daughter of the late Elijah H. and Maude Edwards Hare. She was a former substitute teacher at Broome High School and an active and dedicated member at Central Baptist Church of Cowpens where she worked in the nursery for thirty years. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Joseph E. Walker; two sons, Clark Walker and his wife Marlene of Flagler, FL, and Mike Walker and his wife Sharon of Cowpens; a daughter, Regina W. Sanford and her husband Jim of Spartanburg; two granddaughters, Brandi Poole and her husband Thomas of Statesboro, GA, and Kayla Walker of Auburn, AL; and a grandson, Tyler Clark Sanford of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by two brothers. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Terry Wilson and the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Ivey. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
