Jeanette Henderson

Jeanette Horton Henderson age 85, died peacefully surrounded by family on January 8th, 2021 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Jeanette was born on December 21st 1935 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Rufus Belton Horton and Ada Wilkerson Horton. Jeanette had a long successful career while working for Southern Paper Stock Company and retired in 2008, after 33 years. She was happily married to Joe Henderson, who was her partner in life, until his passing in 1992. Surviving is her loving daughter, Belinda Henderson Steadman (Robert) of Raleigh, NC; granddaughters, Elizabeth Talley Steadman and Katherine Lynne Steadman of Raleigh, NC; nephews Terry Cash and Tim Cash of Chesnee, SC and nieces Lisa Horton Burwell of Boone, NC and Jenny Cash Lowing of Chesnee, SC; sister-in-law Shirley Horton of Boone, NC. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Horton. Jeanette had a warm and welcoming personality that would light up any room she was in and she was known for her ability to make everyone smile. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for her family. Receiving of friends and families will be at 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Andy Case.
