Jean Halyburton Taylor, 78, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born May 21, 1931, in Canton, NC she was the daughter of the late William D. and Ila Mae Pless Halyburton and wife of the late James Boyd "Ben" Taylor. She was retired from Reeves Brothers as a purchasing agent and was a long time employee of the lab at Butte Knitting Mill. She was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church. Survivors include a granddaughter, Alaina T. Allison and her husband Travis of Spartanburg; and very dear and close friends, Susan and Faith Taylor of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a son, Billy Fred Taylor; and three brothers, Joseph (Joe) V. Halyburton, Robert (Bobby) A. Halyburton, and William (Billy) D. Halyburton, Jr. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Fairforest Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Mr. Ernie Thigpen.
