Jean Robbins

June 9, 1918 — July 9, 2015

Jean S. Robbins, 97, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 9, 2015, at her home. Born June 9, 1918, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mallie Padgett Spake, and widow of Henry Rupert Robbins. A graduate of Chesnee High School, Mrs. Robbins was a charter member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church and a great witness for Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia E. Phillips of Spartanburg, SC; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nell S. Dobbins of Rutherfordton, NC; and sister-in-law, Marie Spake of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sons, Henry McGilvary Robbins and Richard J. Robbins; and brothers, Buford Spake and Clayton Spake. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday, July 12, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Danny Garrett. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, 1301 Boiling Springs Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303, by the Rev. Ronnie Norris.
