Jean Mcabee

Jean Miller McAbee, 82, of Roebuck, SC, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born January 26, 1931, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Esther Miles Miller. Mrs. McAbee was co-founder of Roebuck Greenhouses and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. A graduate of Spartanburg County District 6 Schools and Robinson Business College, she was a member of the Southern Nurserymen Association, SC Nursery and Landscape Association, and the SC Greenhouse Growers Association. Surviving is her beloved husband of 63 years, Alvin A. McAbee; children, Debbie McAbee Clark (Allen O., Jr.) of Spartanburg, Vicky McAbee Noe (Jerry), and Ricky A. McAbee (Joy), all of Roebuck; grandchildren, Allen O. Clark III (Jen), Molly Clark Conklin (Josh), Elizabeth McAbee, Emily McAbee Lucas (John), Erin McAbee, and Patrick McAbee Noe; great-grandchildren, Allie Elizabeth Varn, Mac John Lucas, Clark Joshua Conklin; and sister-in-law, Ann Bible Batson of Greenville. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Lou Ellen Miller Kane. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 797 Old Georgia Rd., Moore, SC 29369. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, August 23, 2013, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, by the Rev. James L. Oliver and the Rev. Joey Burnett.
