Jean Chesney McAbee, 83, of Moore, SC, formerly of Spartanburg, died Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 19, 1931, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Guy Frederick Chesney and Mildred Adams Chesney. She was the widow of her first husband, Floyd Earl McAbee and second husband, James L. Barnett. Mrs. McAbee attended Cecil's Business College and retired from Kosch and Gray Jewelers after 25 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and Eastern Star-Mary Montgomery Chapter #231. Survivors include her children, Kenneth E. McAbee of Pauline, SC, Janice M. Davis (Joe) of Moore, SC, and Sheryl M. Cannon (John C.) of Spartanburg; four grandchildren, Melissa, Brian, Sean, and Michael; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bill Adams. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
