Jean High

Jean Vassy High, 82, of 402 Fernwood Drive, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at her home. Born September 20, 1926, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Festus and Ora McCullough Vassy. She attended Limestone College, retired from Carolina Cash Stores, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Eugene High; a daughter, Lynn H. Hagmann of Charleston; a son, Phillip E. High and his wife Sandra of Spartanburg; two granddaughters, Laura Fowler and her husband Adam of Charleston, and Kimberly Hagmann of Auburn, AL; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jordan Fowler. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Correll High. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Steve Holler and the Rev. Heather Humphries. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Cancer Centers of the Carolinas, 120 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
