Jean Riddle Frick, of 400 Webber Road, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at White Oak Estates. A native of Lakeland, FL, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Marion and Dora Lentz Riddle and the wife of 60 years to the late Reinhold Walter "Ford" Frick. A graduate of Laurens High School, she attended Newberry College. She was the former owner and operator of Jean Frick of Spartanburg and the Piazza Tea Room, Jean Frick Interiors and Jean Frick Antiques, and formerly an instructor at Robinson's Business College and Cecil's Business College. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Battle of Cowpens Chapter. Survivors include two sons, David Frick and his wife Martha Elizabeth Frick, and Dr. Ken Frick and his wife Jeanie Frick, all of Spartanburg; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Gay Cecil Frick; a sister, Gretchen Riddle; and three brothers, Wilbur, Robert, and Harold Riddle. Visitation will be 3:00-3:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in the Church Fellowship Hall at St. John's Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Boyd F. Cook. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund, 415 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or to Mobile Meals Service, P. O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at the home of her son, Dr. Ken Frick, 313 Glendalyn Place, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family would like to acknowledge Tanya Price and all the employees of White Oak Estates, as well as the staff of Hospice Care of SC, for their compassion and care shown to Mrs. Frick and her family.
