Jean Blalock

Jean H. Blalock, 79, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 5, 1934, in Chesnee, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Kate Talley Henderson. Mrs. Blalock was a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church and formerly employed with Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. She was a member of Spartanburg Zajeh Club where she served as treasurer for a number of years. Surviving is her loving husband of 53 years, Leon Blalock; daughters, Susan Blalock Owens and Angel B. Fogle (William A. Fogle III), all of Spartanburg, SC; son, Joey Wayne Blalock of Spartanburg, SC; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Lawter of Spartanburg, SC; and brothers, Charles Webster Henderson (Mary Jane) of White Pine, TN, James Grover Henderson (Ann) of Spartanburg, SC, and Walter Henderson Jr. (Pete) of Cherokee County, SC. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Blalock Jennings. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church, 2699 Chesnee Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Michael Boyter and the Rev. Dr. Bill Lark. Burial will be in Cherokee Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
