Jean Barker

Sara Jean Alman Barker, 80, of Pacolet, SC, died Friday, May 20, 2022 at her grandson’s home. Born December 29, 1941 in Pacolet, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Ray and Sara Millwood Alman, and was the wife of the late Donald Barker.

Jean was retired from Coleman’s Store in Pacolet, after 41 years of service. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Nanny to all. She was of the Baptist faith and was devoted to her Lord and family.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, survivors include her daughter-in-law, Barbara Barker of Pacolet, SC, her grandsons, Stephen Barker (Casey), Richard Lewis, and Christopher Barker (Marissia), all of Pacolet, SC, six great grandchildren, Lily, Leanna, Hali, Stephen, Luna and Kaylin. She was also predeceased by a son, Steve Barker and her brother, Dink Alman.

Visitation will be at 1:45 – 2:45 pm Monday, May 23, 2022 at Floyd’s Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. A Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm, at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Damon Duncan. Burial will follow in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372.
