Jean Andrea

January 23, 1925 — May 25, 2017

Jean W. Andrea, beloved wife of the late Fred W. Andrea, Jr., died Thursday, May 25, 2017 at RoseCrest Healthcare Center. A native of Greenville, SC she was born January 23, 1925, a daughter of James G. Wilson, Sr. and Mary Cason Wilson. Mrs. Andrea was a former school teacher, long-time homemaker, and business assistant to her husband in Aiken, SC, where they were members of First Baptist Church. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Spartanburg and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was also a graduate of Greenville High School and Furman University. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Dr. Fred W. Andrea III (Barbara) of Aiken, SC; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Johnson of Boiling Springs, SC; five grandchildren, Ashley P. West of Campobello, SC, Maddison C. Johnson of Boiling Springs, SC, Margaret A. Campbell (Nathan) of Aiken, SC, Sarah K. Andrea (Peter) of Washington, DC, and R. Morgan Purvis of Atlanta, GA; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four siblings; granddaughter, Rebecca C. Andrea; daughter-in-law, Dawn H. Andrea; and son-in-law, Mark D. Johnson. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, May 29, 2017, in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29615. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aiken First Baptist Church, PO Box 3157, Aiken, SC 29802; or Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 897 Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
