James Darvin Moss, 85, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at his home. Born October 16, 1929, in Blacksburg, SC, he was the son of the late Dave and Edessa Broome Moss. A veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War, Mr. Moss retired as a maintenance supervisor after 47 ½ years of service with Mayfair Mills Bailey Plant. He was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church for over 65 years, the Rowe Sunday School Class, Arcadia Lodge #285 AFM, and a Shriner. Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Pauline Elizabeth McDonald Moss; sons, Steve Allen Moss (Cheryl) and James David Moss, all of Spartanburg, SC; grandsons, Stanley Allen Moss (Joni) of Greenwood, SC, Randall Darvin Moss (Amber) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Jason Scott Moss (Samantha) of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Harper Ashlyn Moss, Hudson Allen Moss, and Ryan Ethan Moss, all of Boiling Springs, SC; sisters, Ruth Hess of Gaffney, SC and Sudie Franklin of Kokomo, IN; brother, Gary Moss (Brenda) of Blacksburg, SC; and special friends, Jack and Nancy Thompson. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 PM Friday, October 2, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with services following at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. James B. Carter, the Rev. David F. Ervin, and the Rev. Bill McDonald. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arcadia United Methodist Church, PO Box 25, Arcadia, SC 29320.
