Jatana O'Connor

Jatana Staretta "Star" O'Connor, 64, died Monday, October 22, 2012, at Carolina Medical Center, after a brief illness. Born August 3, 1948, in Concord, NC, she was the daughter of the late Gus Jonathon Pritt and Mildred Eunice DeBoe Pritt Coley. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Don Coley of Concord, NC. Mrs. O'Connor was the executive director with the Pembroke Pines, FL YMCA. Her career with YMCA was in restructuring Y's throughout Florida and began as membership director in Spartanburg from 1984-1996, then as executive director in Orlando and Pembroke Pines, FL. She was also a licensed real estate agent in Columbia, SC. Surviving is her husband John Fitzgerald O'Connor, Jr. of the home; sons, Todd Patterson and wife Missy McCarley Patterson of Spartanburg, SC, and Chad Patterson and friend Nathaniel Marshall of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Madeline, Abigayle, and William Patterson, all of Spartanburg, SC, and Ethan Pritchard and Nicholas Marshall, both of Florence, SC; sister, Diann McGuire of Concord, NC; and brother, Ronnie Pritt of Concord, NC. Visitation will be 2:00-3:45 PM Friday, October 26, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pembroke Pines YMCA, 501 Southwest 172nd Avenue, Pembroke Pines, FL 33029. The family is at the home of Todd and Missy Patterson.
