Jason Harris

Jason Gregory Harris, 39, of Duncan, SC, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born May 10, 1977, he was the son of Susan Farmer Harris of Greer, SC, and the late Timothy Bratton Harris. Master Police Officer Harris was with the Spartanburg Police Department for the past 12 years where he was a member of the SWAT team, motorcycle unit, K-9 tracking team, downtown bicycle unit, housing complex team, and a gang investigator. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 16 years, Amanda Roberts Harris; children, Maddyson Harris, Samantha Harris, and Alex Harris; brothers, Chris Harris (Jennifer) of Greer, SC, Adam Harris (Hope) of Startex, SC, and Josh Harris (Crissy) of Moore, SC; nieces and nephews, Hunter Harris, Caitlin Harris, Stephen Harris, Bratton Harris and Ellis Harris; maternal grandmother, Shirley Farmer of Greer, SC, and his Great Dane, "Brutus". He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Charles Farmer and paternal grandparents, E. P. and Sarah Harris. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at First Baptist Spartanburg, 250 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at First Baptist Spartanburg, conducted by the Rev. William Pate, the Rev. Sam Davis, Chief Alonzo Thompson, and Major Art Littlejohn. Burial with Police Honors will be in Wood Memorial Park, 863 Gap Creek Road, Greer, SC 29651.
