Jason Franklin Gardner, 47, of Garden City, SC and recently of Tampa, FL, died Monday, October 17, 2016. Born February 28, 1969, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Ernest J. Gardner, Jr. D.D.S., of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Wanda Cheryl Campbell Gardner. Jason greatly enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid freshwater and saltwater fisherman, hunter, and golfer. He put his fishing guide expertise to good use and would often donate his time to take veterans and wounded warriors fishing as part of a program run by his close friend, Clebe McClary. Jason received his BS in Business Administration from Presbyterian College in South Carolina in 1991. He had a long history of success in sales with LivaNova Health, earning many Rookie of the Year and Manager of the Year awards. He started with Sorin CRM in June of 2010 and served as a Regional Sales Manager in the Southeast region. In October of 2015 he was promoted to Director, US National Accounts for CRM. He worked for Lanier Worldwide, Datascope Corporation and Medtronic, Inc. prior to joining LivaNova. In addition to his father, survivors include his children, Jason "Jack" Campbell Gardner of The Citadel and Anna Kate Gardner of Charleston, SC; brother, Jeffrey "Jeff" Scott Gardner of Columbia, SC; stepmother, Catherine V. Gardner of Spartanburg, SC; uncle, Dr. Ron Gardner of Spartanburg, SC; aunt, Debbie Gardner of Spartanburg, SC; stepbrother, Lance Garrison of Garden City, SC; and stepsister, Natalie Miles of Columbia, SC. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Sunday, October 23, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, 250 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone and the Rev. Robert C. Morgan. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
