Janis Ross

Janis Kaye Bridges Ross, 81, of Cowpens, SC, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. Born November 23, 1940, in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late William Floyd and Lois Cook Bridges.

Janis was a 1958 Cowpens High School graduate and attended Cecil’s Business College. She retired from School District Three and Seven as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Nedonna Pender (Blake) of Spartanburg, SC, three grandchildren, Lisa Adams, Rachel Traxler (John) and Zack Pender; her sister, Dot Baumann of Duncan, SC, and a special aunt, Jo Ann Lasorda of Malvern, PA; a niece, Teresa Crow, and nephews, Seth Brannon and Hughston Reeves. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Floyd Ross, a sister, Lillie Scruggs, and a brother, William Floyd Bridges, Jr.

Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:30 pm Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Cowpens First Baptist Church, 108 W. Church Street, Cowpens, SC 29330 with a Memorial service following at 3:00 pm.
