Janie Ballew

Janie Mae Bellew was granted her angel wings on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. She lost her battle with cancer at her home in Inman, SC. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Although she was 64 years young, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of how precious life is. Born August 3, 1945, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Lila Mae Kimbrell Hayes. She graduated from Boiling Springs High School and attended Una Church of God of Prophecy Calvary Temple. Her home away from home was the family business, Bellews Produce Market. She enjoyed people and that showed in her smiles and generosity. She touched many throughout her life with her giving spirit. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support. She was too well loved to ever be forgotten. She is survived by her husband, Howard L. Bellew, and three children, Teresa L. Turner and her husband Marvin, Howard E. Todd Bellew, and Chrissy M. Pruitt and her husband Travis, all of Inman. Her biggest pleasure in life was being with her grandkids, Jessica, Craig, Nichole, Trevor, Tyler, and her great-grandkids. Martha J. Hayes, a dear friend, also lived with her at her home in Inman. She was predeceased by her brother, George Hayes; and her half-brother, William P. Hayes. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel conducted by the Rev. David Bosler. Entombment will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to SRMC Hospice Special Needs Fund, 120 Heywood Avenue, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
