Janice Amaker

HEADING: Janice L. Amaker DATELINE: Laurens, SC Janice L. Amaker, 72, of 503 Sullivan Street, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Smith-Phayer Hospice House. Born November 18, 1937 in Spartanburg, SC, she is the daughter of the late James McNeely and Beulah Aiken Amaker. She loved country and gospel music, dancing, magazines, needlepoint, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a sister, Betty Solesbee (Larry) of Lyman; and three brothers, Jesse "Jack" Amaker of Cowpens, Maxie Amaker of Una, and Chuck Amaker (Judy) of Campobello. She was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Amaker. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Steve Durham. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Laurens County Disabilities and Special Needs Board Foundation, P. O. box 986, Laurens, SC 29360.
