Janelle Spigel

Janelle N. Spigel, 67, of Lancaster, SC, died Friday, December 27, 2013, at White Oak Manor-Lancaster. Born July 10, 1946, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Elmer Stepp Nelson. She was a retired teacher in the Lancaster School System, having received a Bachelors in Art History from the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Fine Art from Winthrop University. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. In addition to her husband, Joel D. Spigel, survivors include sons, Ross Lyda of Atlanta, GA and David William Spigel (Traci) of Panama City, FL; sister, Joan McGinnis (Carson) of Spartanburg, SC; and brother, Edward Nelson (Pam) of Pittsburgh, PA. She was predeceased by a son, Nathan Edward Spigel. Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. Joanne Hull, will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
